An automated workstation designed for the assembly and packaging of metal and plastic parts. The main objective was to minimise the need for manual labour, optimise production capacity and achieve a compact layout of the equipment. Once the trays are filled, the workstation enables fully automated assembly of parts and their subsequent packaging, including separation into pairs or trios.
Main functional parts of the workplace
- Pre-feeders for metal and plastic parts – Ensure a continuous supply of material to feeders
- Parts feeders – Automatically transport individual parts from storage bins to input conveyors
- Infeed conveyors – Transport parts to assembly equipment
- Assembly equipment – Performs precise assembly of plastic and metal components into functional assemblies
- Separation device – Separates finished assemblies into pairs or trios according to the requirements of the production programme.
- Packaging station – Automated packaging of finished assemblies into packaging material
Benefits of the solution
- Fully automated process from material input to packaging of finished assemblies
- Minimisation of operator intervention and reduction of labour intensity
- Compact design with regard to limited installation dimensions
- Ensuring the required production cycle according to customer specifications
- Flexibility in separating sets (pairs/triples) and switching between packaging cycles
