Design and assessment of the load-bearing steel structure of an advertising billboard. When designing a tall, flat structure mounted on a circular cross-section pylon, it was necessary to assess several aeroelastic phenomena. These included divergence and flutter, to which flat structures exposed to wind are susceptible.
Furthermore, there is von Kármán vortex shedding, to which tall, slender structures with a constant cross-section along their height are sensitive. The total height of the structure is 11.5 m, the dimensions of the advertising space are 2.4 x 5.3 m, and the diameter of the pylon tube is 760 mm.
